Quainton Support Network

The Parish Council continues to have on standby a group of volunteers to form an emergency action group for Covid-19 in Quainton. The aim is to offer help and support to all vulnerable people in the village particularly, the elderly or those self-isolating – through choice or necessity.

Can we help you?

Do you need a prescription collected from Waddesdon and Whitchurch GP practices, or the Village Store? If so, one of our volunteers can help.

Volunteers are available with transport help to vaccination centres.

Quainton Village Stores offers a telephone ordering service. Call the shop to let them know the items required and volunteers will pick, pack and deliver the shopping. Payment can be made over the phone. (Note the shop’s new phone number Tel: 01296 655599).

The George & Dragon also offers a service for the fresh meat and vegetables they sell from the coffee shop. (Tel: 01296 655436)

Other Support

As well as offering practical help, volunteers can be there on the other end of the phone to provide support – particularly important for people who live alone and/or have had to self-isolate and may otherwise feel quite alone and cut off from society. If you need help, call one of the emergency action group members below who will put you in touch with the volunteer in your street/area.
